I recently had the joy of hosting a much anticipated workshop crafted exclusively for solopreneurs! So what was my biggest takeaway? Read all about it below!
I'm still buzzing from our recent workshop on solopreneurship! I've been watching this space for over five years and firmly believe this feature of the Future of Work is here to stay. As usual, we're diving into a few exciting topics, so grab your favorite beverage and let's go!
What I've been up to…
In preparation for the Chicago Marathon, I had to tackle a 32KM training run at the delightful hour of 4:30 AM (because who doesn't love a pre-dawn adventure?) I ended up seeing parts of Singapore I didn't even know existed! Check out a short video montage of my run here.
A quote I'm pondering…
"It is impossible to get better and look good at the same time. Give yourself permission to be a beginner." – Julia Cameron, The Artist's Way
Improvement comes with stumbles and awkward moments. In the learning phase, you won't win style points, and that's okay! Mastery is forged through messy trial and error, so give yourself permission to fumble and embrace the unglamorous stages of growth.
The motivation you need from a 70-year-old Med school graduate
This corporate retiree is one of the oldest graduates from medical school. His powerful advice? "You can still do it at any age." So, what dream or goal have you been holding back on? You're never too old to reinvent yourself!
What the workshop taught me
Having a growth mindset and building resilience for the reinvention journey is critical. Equally important is the role of motivators—those people who encourage you to take that leap and stand by you along the way. The solopreneur workshop really brought home this point for me—even motivators need motivating! Want to be the spark for others or need a little spark yourself? A little chuckle
While AI can crunch numbers and sort data, it's still trying to wrap its circuits around what makes us human—like why we love puppies or get oddly attached to the one pen that writes just right. Perhaps it isn't quite ready to handle the full complexity of human emotions!
That's a wrap for this month! I'm already looking forward to our next chat, packed with more insights, stories, and of course, a healthy dose of smiles (and maybe a few laughs). If you found these perspectives helpful, go ahead and share them with someone who could use a little extra wisdom—or at least a good chuckle!
