Thursday Tapestry: Ambient Stress, Charting Your Own Path, and A Wry Grin

Saudi Arabia, my 81st country, was an eye-opening and inspiring journey!

January has flown by in the blink of an eye! To those celebrating the Lunar New Year, wishing you and your loved ones a happy and healthy Year of the Sssnake! As usual, I'll keep things short, sweet, and to the point. Let's dive right in!

Ambient Stress

In the past month we've witnessed catastrophic infernos in Los Angeles that scorched landscapes and shattered lives; a seismic shift in political leadership that not only upends the global order but also deepens fractures within the United States; the launch of Deep Seek that has been described as an inflection point for AI development.

The general tone of the times is uneasy, and can give rise to low-level stress that, like ambient noise, permeates our lives (and indeed the entire population) even though it's not necessarily anything specific. This article provides a clear-eyed view of how we can maintain our sanity in spite of the turbulence.

I Did It My Way!

Earlier this month, I did something completely unexpected - I sang (for the first time!) during a keynote speech and workshop. The entire audience joined in, and it turned into a heartwarming moment of connection and joy. Check out the post to see the magic unfold. Comparison is the death of joy. Chart your own path!

Betting On Yourself

On the topic of charting your own path, in the five years since I've launched the Remarkable Reinventors Community, as Cassandra's story illustrates, I've watched the age at which people start contemplating their next chapter literally plummet. If you've been contemplating a second (or third chapter) that involves a redesign of your life and work, check out the Community, and get on the priority registration waitlist (exclusive to newsletter subscribers) for our next in-person workshop 28 March. Spaces are limited!

The Time-Saving Paradox

This month's chuckle might be more of a wry grin. Do we have our priorities right?
